Rev. Bonnie and Rev. Rob want to send a massive thank-you out to everyone who contributed to our Stampede Breakfast on July 6. With more than 300 people served, it was an enormous success. Well done, good and faithful servants!
Watch this highlight reel to get a sense of the action. Here's a quick round-up of some of the kudos that have been flying around via email this week:
- Hal Anderson: "Garth Dymond went through 86 litres of batter, Delores Cunnington cooked eight pounds of bacon, that was gone before we knew it, and we cooked 520 breakfast sausages, 40 smokies and 30 wieners – to say nothing of the hundreds of cups of coffee that we served. It was an amazing combined effort. Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to bounce..."
- Garth Dymond: "Special thanks to Arnold Williams for running to the grocery store to get more sausages and other supplies. It is never easy to calculate quantities when one experiences a record attendance."
- Sheila Leigh: "I would like to also thank the Flanders family and the Shaw family who put away the tables and chairs after the event."
- Rev. Rob: "A huge shout-out to our friends from Holy Trinity who joined Liam and me in the band – Scott and Sydney Radford, who played guitar and bass respectively, and also provided the sound system. Well done to Liam on the cajon, too!"
- Rev. Bonnie: "Hats off to Pastor Karen and her volunteers for keeping the young 'uns entertained. What fun! It was also really encouraging to see so many of our neighbours from Smile Studio come out and participate. Not only did they fund the whole event, they also brought smiles to plenty of faces throughout the morning, with their friendly demeanor and nifty gift bags. Great collaboration!"
Amen to that! Next year's Holy Hoedown is sure to be even better, but here's hoping y'all are able to put your boots up and relax this week. God knows you've earned it!
