Let's talk God – Halloween editionJoin Liam on October 31 as he serves up tricks, treats & Jesus Student Assistant Liam Getty's Let's Talk God initiative is bearing significant fruit (and not just apples), so he's decided to host a special edition of the activity on Halloween. Starting at about 5 PM, Liam will be on the front lawn in costume, with treats to hand out and a little fire going, inviting the little ghosts & goblins and their parents to stop by for a treat and a chat. And you're invited to pull up a chair and join him – just send him an email to let him know you're coming. He'll stay out until 8 or until his candy runs out. Fit to be tithedParish Council gives 10% of Fall Fair revenue to Hope Mission At its October 22 meeting, St. Peter's Parish Council decided to give 10% of the revenue from the October 17 Fall Fair to Hope Mission. The event was a blessing for our community and our parish, and we want to give thanks to God for his providence. As Pastor Derek Sheahan told us on September 20, Hope Mission is a Christian charity that cares for the homeless and the poor in Calgary by providing emergency shelter, food, youth programs, and addiction recovery services. "Giving 10% of the Fall Fair revenue to Hope Mission is a step toward our parish following the tithing and stewardship principles God calls each of us to," says Ven. Bonnie. "This powerfully complements what we are encouraging parishioners to reflect on during our Plenty Good Room Stewardship Campaign, and I am very encouraged that members of our Parish Council unanimously supported this decision. Well done, good and faithful servants!" For more infomation visit:

Centennial celebrationJoin us as we mark the 100th anniversary of St. Peter's on November 21! St. Peter's officially came into existence on October 24, 1926, when Bishop Pinkham dedicated our first parish building at the corner of 66th Avenue (now Glenmore Trail) and Elbow Drive. That means our parish is 100 years old this fall! We're celebrating the milestone with a festive open house on Saturday November 21 from 1 to 4 PM in Cormack Hall. Finger foods & punch will be on the menu, and there will be displays of fascinating materials from our archive. We'll hear music and memories from parishioners and clergy, past and present – as well as some words of encouragement from Archbishop Greg Kerr-Wilson. Please join us if you can (and help us spread the word)! For more infomation visit: http://stpeterscalgary.org/events/centennial-celebration/2026-11-21

Reminder: St. Peter's is a fragrance-free spaceNo scents makes good sense Colognes and perfumes – even those in our shampoos, conditioners, detergents and fabric softeners – can cause reactions for people with allergies and sensitivities, and these conditions are becoming more prevalent in our society. Our commitment to providing a scent-free environment ensures that everyone can worship in St. Peter's in safety and comfort, so we thank you for your efforts! |
