Student Assistant Liam Getty recently led a faithful group of St. Peter's parishioners and members of the parish's extended family through a rich Bible Study series on the Parables of Jesus. Here is Liam's recap of that journey:
Over the course of six weeks, I led my group through six different parables. These parables were selected to fall roughly in line with a theme of sin and redemption such that there was a narrative arc throughout our time. At the beginning were parables that highlighted our sinful condition. Then, we moved on to parables demonstrating God's love for us regardless and what he does for us. Lastly, we examined parables that teach us how to live in light of God's redemptive love. Throughout the weeks we had new people come almost every session, all of whom were able to engage with the text/teaching well because each night was self contained. By the end of the series, members expressed great satisfaction with their experience to me.
Well done, Liam! Thank you for sharing your love of God and your gifts as a teacher with our community.
