Directory Update: Ann Bright and her team have completed contacting everyone in the 2019 Church Directory. Thank you to Ann and her team. We look forward to the new Directory.

Lessons learned because of COVID – 19: Get dressed every day. Read the book that has sat on the shelf for a month. Go outdoors each day. Phone a friend or neighbour. Say a prayer for the front-line workers, the postal workers, the bus drivers, the news providers, the garbage persons, the street sweepers, all the families doing homeschooling, the transport drivers who bring us our food, the grocery store staff and all the volunteers who are doing grocery, drug store and food deliveries. Pray for those who are homeless.

Church Security: Access Code box has been stripped of all known and unknown, more than 100, existing numbers. If you have entry problems, contact Lynne Arling at 403-242-9595 or arling07[at]telus[dot]net.

Church Gardens: Now that we are able to get into our gardens once again, we may find that we have surplus perennials. The Church would be happy to give them a new home. Also, can you make a once-a-week commitment to water and/or weed the front gardens during the summer months? If you are interested in supplying plants or helping, please contact Angela Bane at 403-281-2652.

Church Activities: Although the Church is officially closed, there are many on-going activities. The Wardens (Executive Council) are meeting weekly. Mike Bright reports that the present bills are paid. The Men’s Group has offered to clean the Lower Hall, the hallway and the two (2) rooms in that wing. Thank you to Barry O’Flynn. If you would like to assist, please contact Barry. The Lower commercial kitchen will be professionally cleaned. The ACW is accepting quotes and meeting with designers to develop the plans to renovate the Cormack Hall kitchen. Following the completion of that work, the floor will be cleaned, stripped and refinished by professionals. Peter continues with all of the everyday tasks with cleaners, electricians, contractors repairing the parking lot and assisting with Igniting Neighbours tasks. We are working towards a pristine Church when we are able to re-open.

Firewood: The men have kept busy chopping trees and splitting wood. If you could use firewood for your fireplace or backyard fire-pit, please contact Peter Leigh at 403-281-1376.

Place your phone close to the audio on your computer. Click on the link. The person can now listen comfortably to the service sitting with their phone on the table.

Dying with Dignity Webinar: Advance Care Planning and COVID – 19 is available.Log into www.dyingwithdignity.ca and download the PDF Advance Care Planning Toolkit which focuses on creating a Personal Directive. The toolkit is short and to the point. During our self-isolation having the Directive completed is one form of peace of mind.

A  Prayer from Jagdutt:
“CHOICES"
Lord Jesus Christ, when I am torn and troubled,
by voices across a broad spectrum of opinions,
within the parish because of decisions that I have to make,
calm my emotions, and clear my mind of any prejudice,
so that I can see and feel the effect of my actions
in my own life and the life of others.
Give me the courage to do what I have to do
and a willingness:  who to listen to, which to choose,
where to go, or how long to wait, what is best for the
life of the parish in the long run.
Give me wisdom so that I can act and not be paralyzed
and move out in confidence to shoulder the responsibility,
in a confusing world, knowing that you are by my side,
guiding me.  Amen.
