Our intrepid organist, George Langley, is a Master Warrant Officer with the Canadian Army Reserves, and he's spending the summer in Ontario fulfilling his mulitary duties. He sent us this update on his activities on May 16.

Hi all. I hope that all is well with everyone!

Just a quick note, that my Information Operations Officer course at the Peace Support Training Centre at CFB Kingston is now done. Was informative, learning new skills and working with students from a wide variety of trades and experiences. Next, I’ll be proceeding to Ottawa for my tasking with the Band of the Ceremonial Guard.

An interesting note: I attended services at St. Mark’s Anglican while in Kingston, and on the second visit, was asked to play the organ for the service! Had 10 minutes to learn one new hymn, from the Sing a New Creation: A Supplement to Common Praise (1998) hymnal, and new settings for the various Service music - most were resettings to familiar hymn tunes, but the Agnus Dei was a new setting. Biggest challenge was quickly getting familiar with a different organ, and not having my organ shoes with me!

Pictures included, with Rev. Sandra Hounsell-Drover and organist Melody Massey.
