We are sad to announce that tonight's Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper has been cancelled, due to the cold temperatures and blowing snow Calgary is experiencing today. We will look at rescheduling the event for a date in the future, but in the meantime, please feel free to have pancakes at home.
Tonight's Bible Study Session on The Parables of Christ is also cancelled.
Stay warm and stay safe!
Join us on February 17 at 5:30 PM for our annual Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper. Pancakes are eaten on Shrove Tuesday (the day before Lent begins) as a traditional way to use up rich foods like eggs, milk, and sugar before the 40-day Lenten fast. Historically, Christians abstained from these items during Lent, making this feast day the last opportunity for indulgence.
This year, we'll have a basket for freewill offerings, which will go to the Mission of St. Edmund's Food Bank. We'll also accept donations of non-perishable food items for the food bank.
