Thank-you: A very special thank you to Sam and Emily for their ministries amongst us at St. Peter's.
From the desk of the Interim: I thank Sam for letting people know through her Facebook that she is no longer the Organist and Choir Director at St. Peter’s.
Out of that came George Langley, who is helping me put together an actual live stream for St. Peter’s, beginning this Sunday. I thank God for grace and mercy.
Janitorial: The Wardens have hired the cleaning service named POLMAX. They have deep cleaned the Church and all our rooms. They will be fogging the Church to ensure no COVID – 19. They even do windows!! Does anyone remember the last time the windows were cleaned?
Cormack Hall Kitchen: The ACW has made the first decisions regarding the kitchen renovations. The next step is to review the quotes.
Parish Council: The Parish Council met on Tuesday night, Septemer 8. It is with regret that we accepted the resignations of Gary Herle and Emily Diehl. Their talents and skills will be missed. The meeting was spent reviewing the impact of Canon 13 on the work of the Wardens and Council members. The Retreat is planned to take place in October. Minutes of the June Parish Council meeting have been posted in Cormack Hall. If anyone would like to see the financial statements, please call the office.
Firewood: Peter Leigh and a group of the men have kept busy chopping, splitting and stacking wood. Now is the time to buy for your fireplace. Stack it high, and let it dry! If you need a full pick-up load for $100.00 delivered, contact Peter at 403-281 – 1376 or pjleigh[at]shaw[dot]ca.
- to Lynne Arling for sanding, scraping and re-staining the benches in front of the Church
- to Joan Variyan for showing up each Tuesday and helping with the gardening
- to Barbara Ellis for donating a ping pong table for the lower hall so when things are slow we can go down and play
- to Linda Gemmell who has returned to us and is straightening and sorting out the filing cabinet and just about anything else she sees in the office
Things we've learned during COVID-19: Get dressed every day. Go for a walk each day. Have you contacted a new friend from within the Parish? Or someone you have met on your daily walk? Take up a hobby. Learn a new language. Learn a new instrument. Redecorate a room by shopping at your house. Have you shredded that box of old documents yet? Have you shopped your cupboard following your COVID eating? Maybe it is time for a change – over for Fall.
Thought of the Day: Your life is as good as your mindset!
