UPCOMING EVENTS and NOTICES

AN EASTER GREETING: These past several months have been a concern for us all as we saw
the ravages of a pandemic all around us. It has caused us to stop and reflect on what we value in life. Reminding us of our responsibilities; to ourselves, our family and our community.
During this Holy Week, we also have been exposed to mixed emotions of faith struggling to understand. We greeted Jesus with palm branches on Palm/Passion Sunday. We sat with him at a table on Maundy Thursday, broken bread together at a farewell meal. We witnessed his death on Good Friday, on a simple wooden cross as a criminal. Yet on the third day, Jesus comes to us, alive, in victory. He breathes “Peace,” upon us. By this, we know that death is not the final word.
As the sun boldly rises to meet a new day, rise in our lives this Easter morning, for you are our hope, our life, and our joy.
May you and your family keep well and safe.
A HAPPY EASTER TO YOU AND YOURS.
The Rev. Jagdutt Singh.
Easter 2020.

Donations:
Parish members may either mail in their donation to the Church (903 75 Ave SW, Calgary, AB, T2V 0S7), or they may bring it in and slide it under the Office door. The other alternative is for people to go to their bank and set up a direct deposit- please email Meredith for a form to complete. This will be extremely helpful as a parish member because it automatically comes out of your account to St. Peter’s.

Rummage Sale: IS CANCELLED. Please hold onto the items you have gathered. The Fall Sale is expected to go ahead. Keep hunting, as we all have those “hidden or unexplored” corners.

Parish List Update: Ann Bright and her team are contacting everyone in the 2019 Church Directory. You will be asked if your address and postal code are current,  and whether you can be contacted by computer. Do you have an assigned mailbox? The time seems appropriate to update the Parish information as we continue to self-isolate. Please thank your phoner.

Lessons learned because of COVID – 19: Get dressed every day, Read the book that has sat on the shelf for a month, Polish that old silver even if it takes several tries, go outdoors each day. Phone a friend or neighbour. Say a prayer for the front-line workers, the transport drivers who bring us our food, the grocery store staff and all the volunteers who are doing grocery deliveries.
Pray for those who have less.
